General balance and symmetry are more important than absolute size. The length of the Australian Cobberdog must be a little more than its height, with a proportion of 6 to 5. There should be no difference in temperament among the different sizes.
Smaller dogs are more often sought after for life in a family home and for therapy dogs. Bigger Cobberdogs are better as assistance dogs for people with disabilities.

Our current breeding dogs are miniature to small medium.
Most of our dogs are miniature in size.
Our tallest dog is 44.5 cm. We are confident in saying that our puppies should be of similar size, because the records of their ancestors indicate that they have all been very similar.
However, it is possible for one of our puppies to grow to be slightly taller (2-3 cms) taller than it’s parents. As they are a living animal, and completely unpredictable it would be unreasonable to guarantee the size. However, we are confident that the litters we produce should be very similar.

  • Miniature: from 33cm to 43cm (6-10kg)
  • Medium: from 43cm to 50cm (12-20kg)
  • Large: from 50cm to 58cm (20-35kg)

The gender of an Australian Cobberdog does not affect height, but in general, females have a slightly lighter build than males. With males being slightly wider in the chest, and stronger in the legs.
